If you think all couples see weddings as a mere realization of a fairy tale, think again. For some, Randy and Jhonamy, getting married is not just about dealing with everything magical. Instead, it requires reality check. Before getting married and in the course of planning a wedding, a couple should be practical yet strong enough to face even some challenges.

Kasal.com: How did the two of you meet? How did you know he or she is the one?

Randy: The first time I laid eyes on her…Mararamdaman mo na lang yan. Hindi na iniisip yan. Mararamdaman mo na ito na yung babaeng pakakasalan ko, makakasama ko habangbuhay.

Kasal.com: How did you decide to finally tie the knot?

Jhonamy: Nung una, pinagplanuhan muna namin yung about sa amin. Number one, nag put up kami ng business. Number two, yung second na investment namin, which is the house. And then, finally, sabi namin parang ready na kami. Ready na siguro kami ikasal.

Kasal.com: How hands on are you in planning the wedding?

Randy: Kami, sobrang hands on. Pati yung simplest details, talagang pinag-uusapan namin kung ano yun. Lalong-lalo na siya, si Namy, kasi napaka-organized niya.

Jhonamy: Sobrang hands on kasi as much as possible, kami yung makikipag-meet kay supplier, tapos kami yung nagbibigay ng details kay supplier kung ano yung mga gusto namin.

Kasal.com: What is your wedding motif and theme?

Jhonamy: Yung naisip namin is yung motif na tatlong kulay—tiffany blue, peach, and then gold. Yun kasing pastel colors, gusto naming colors. And, in addition, we like yung theme na rustic.

Kasal.com: Who are your wedding suppliers? How did you end up with them and what can you say about them?

Randy: Number one, coordinator, si Jordan from Tatlong Ikid na officemate namin. Aside from that, yung partner nilang catering. Makikita naman sa setup, maganda pagkaka-setup nila. Then Smart Shot. Sila yung kumuha ng prenup namin. Based sa mga nakita namin sa expo noon, magaganda na kaya naakit talaga kami na kunin na to. Ito na yung magiging official na photographer natin.

Kasal.com: Is there any challenge or problem you encountered while doing the wedding prep? If so, how did you address them as a couple?

Jhonamy: Sa wedding preparation talaga, hindi nawawala yung struggles, yung mga problem na maeencounter. Like yung ideas, nagsasabog-sabog yung ideas niya, ideas ko…pero as much as possible, hindi kami nagtatalo na ito dapat yung masusunod. As much as possible, kung alam naman naming magiging okay to, maggi-give way kami sa mga bagay na pinagpaplanuhan namin sa wedding.

Kasal.com: What made your wedding unique and what particular details are you proud or happy with?

Randy: Aside from kasama kami sa planning, from sa mga guests, sponsors, groomsmen, entourage, hand-picked namin yan kaya alam namin na once nandoon sila, magiging successful. Magiging happy yung wedding namin. Sa mga supplier naman namin, na-meet naman nila lahat ng expectations namin. Kaya masaya naman kami kasi natupad lahat ng gusto namin na mangyari sa wedding namin.

Kasal.com: What tips, advice can you share to fellow brides to be?

Jhonamy: Walang perfect na wedding, as in! May mga pagkakamaling maeencounter like weather. Part yan. Ang mahalaga, kayong dalawa—kayong magcecelebrate ng marriage niyo. Mahalaga yung pagcecelebrate ng samahan niyo.

Randy: Wag ninyong hayaan yung stress ng preparations yung mangibabaw. Ang dapat mangibabaw ay yung happiness niyo sa pagprepare ng future na maging magkasama. Gaano man kasimple, kaengrande, isa lang ang ending nyan—ang maikasal kayo sa simbahan at magsama habangbuhay. Kaya sa mga nagpaplano ikasal, good luck. Sana kahit anong pagtatalo ninyo, kahit anong hirap ng pagprepare, i-enjoy niyo. Kasi sabi nga nila yung kasiyahan nagsisimula sa first step ng planning. Enjoy, gaya namin, nakaraos din, naging successful, masaya. Official. Married.
